Eleanor Joins Us at the Table

Posted by: Maggie

About a month ago, I bought Eleanor a booster seat so that she could say goodbye to her highchair and hello to eating with the grown-ups. We probably could have done this sooner, but you know with our whole laziness, I mean, busyness thing it just didn’t come up as an idea in our heads. It was not until the move and our now smaller dining area that we came to the conclusion that we needed to get rid of the enormous highchair that stuck four feet out into the room leaving almost no space to walk between the dining area and the living room area. So I went out to Target and bought this lovely little number for just $10:

It straps snugly to the chair so that it won’t fall off while she’s wiggling around, and it straps her to it so that she doesn’t get any ideas about getting up in the middle of the meal. Best of all she gets to eat at the table with us, rather than next to us, and there is a whole lot less clean-up than with her highchair. Most of the mess stays on the table or in her lap rather than in the chair.

p.s. The unfortunate highchair incident occurred while the highchair sat on one side of the room waiting for us to find a place to store it. Still not having found a place to hold it’s enormity, it now sits on the patio so that Eleanor can’t attempt anymore stunts with it.

  1. I, too, love the $10 Target booster seat. Eleanor looks absolutely adorable in the first photo.

  2. She looks so grown up! And $10 is an absolute steal …
