Boys and Balloons:
A Just for Fun Photo Shoot with
Teegan Photography, Part One

Posted by: Maggie

I had two fun photo shoots this weekend. One is for a little semi-secret project I’m working on, so you’ll have to wait to hear about that one. The other was a Teegan Photography Just For Fun Shoot that Amy invited me to tag along on. Thanks Amy!

Amy had styled a very cute shoot with her best friend Angela, a white Marilyn Monroe style dress, my black dining room chairs, and a whole bunch of balloons. Unfortunately, the wind did not cooperate and Amy wasn’t able to capture her vision. But I think she still got some good shots. I didn’t really get any good shots of Angela with the Balloons. But I was lucky enough to get some great Schubert boy photos.

Andrew and his brother Daniel came along to help out. Well, Daniel was there to help. Andrew just stopped by to say hello, but got stuck with balloon untangling duty.

Notice the horizontal position of the balloons. Super windy. Not the look Amy was going for.

Andrew also helped out by carrying the chairs back to Amy’s truck. I told him that Daniel had carried four at once when we arrived, so Andrew, of course, had to show him up by carrying all six. What a tough guy.

After giving up on the balloon and chair idea, I suggested we move locations to the loading dock. I got some great shots of Angela there, but you’ll have to wait until Part Two tomorrow for those!

  1. Can you please tell me how you manage to take pilates, work, and do two photo shoots in one weekend?

  3. Obviously I’m a rock star!

But really, Pilates classes are 7:30-8:40am Sat and 8-8:55am Sun. So I leave when Josh and Eleanor are getting up and get home while they’re finishing up breakfast.

I did the Saturday shoot in the afternoon while Eleanor was napping (which is usually when I try to schedule stuff or get work done on the weekends), and Sunday’s shoot was at a park in the morning so Josh and Eleanor tagged along and played while we shot.

Mostly I’m able to do stuff on the weekends because Josh does the majority of parenting duty. We try to evenly balance our parenting duties throughout the week. Because I do weekday mornings, school pick ups, nap time, afternoons, and dinner prep (Eleanor is in school half days), Josh does evenings-dinner clean up, bath time, and bed time-and does most of the weekend parenting to give me a break. Also, Eleanor usually insists that Josh do stuff for her whenever he is home. She likes him better than me.

Well high five sister! That’s pretty much our scheduling as well!
I love the mini-shoot. That pink flower headband and her pink heels make me want to get something pink! :)

    Great job as always!
