Fabulous Friday: Summer Bucket List – Make Popsicles

Posted by: Maggie

We’ve been buying popsicles as an after school treat for Eleanor for the last year or so. I’ve been planning to find a mold and make my own for at least that long, but never got around to it…until a few weeks ago I found a mold at Buy Buy Baby while shopping for some baby stuff. I can’t find a link to the exact product, but look for the ones with the straws if you can. Eleanor loves that as her popsicle melts while she’s eating it she can drink the juice out of the handle. Brilliant!

Now, we’re saving money and having healthier popsicles, since we’re making them from organic juices from Trader Joes. We usually just use a single organic 100% fruit juice to make them, but I decided to get a little fancy this week and had Josh pick up three different flavor lemonades, regular, strawberry, and mango. I just did one layer at a time and let each freeze before adding the next (with the stick in, it’ll slide out and back into the first two layers pretty easily.

So delicious and summery! Now you go make some popsicles! If you don’t have a mold I just picked up some more from the Target Dollar bins! Go, pick some up, get some delicious juice and get to popsicle making! Yay summer! Yay popsicles!

Fabulous Friday: Kiwi Crates

FYI: The links in this post are affiliate links, which means that we earn a little frozen yogurt money if you buy this product that we LOVE! Sweet right?!

We are crazy for Kiwi Crates! They are a subscription service that provides mail-order crafts and projects for 3-7 year old kids. Every month they send you a new crate which includes two themed crafts or projects! Last month was Medieval Times and featured a mini catapult and a princess hat, this month is Bugs, featuring a bug sponge painting and a firefly craft!

We got a subscription for Eleanor for Christmas and she loves it! She’s excited when a new box arrives each month with new projects for us to work on together. What’s great is that there are varying levels of difficulty, so some crafts she can complete almost entirely on her own and some need a lot of parent assistance. I’m sure this will be great as she gets older and can do more of these projects on her own.

The very best part is that each crate comes with all the necessary supplies to complete your projects. This is wonderful for a parent like me who does not have the time, nor the crafty skills and knowledge to plan a project and shop for supplies. And at just $19.95 per month I’m sure it’s much less expensive than if I were to purchase all of the supplies separately for every new project I came up with. Love, love, love Kiwi Crates!

Fabulous Friday: Trader Joe’s Holiday Joe-Joe’s

Posted by: Maggie

I just discovered these! I’m not big on sweets (aside from ice cream of course), but I do love a good Joe-Joe! (those are Trader Joe’s brand of Oreos for those of you non-Trader Joe’s shoppers) Josh usually does our grocery shopping, since I bring home massive amounts of ice cream and other things we don’t need. BUT Josh was out of town last weekend so I got to shop and buy things like these:

And oh my goodness, am I ever glad I did! They are amazing! They are chocolate-covered Joe-Joes in four flavors: Peppermint, Gingerbread, Double Chocolate, and Peanut Butter! So freaking delicious!

I’m telling you, you NEED to go buy these now! Do it! You’ll thank me!
