Knocked Up!

Posted by: Maggie

Well, I’ve accomplished # 25 on my 30 by 30 list! Unfortunately, that means I’ll have to drop a few others off my list, because I probably shouldn’t go wine tasting while pregnant.

We are thrilled! Eleanor is very excited to be a big sister! She already has some names picked out: Greece, Squeaky, and Eurenka. We’ll keep them in mind, but we have a few others we’re thinking of.

This sonogram was at 8 weeks. I’m 9 weeks now, and definitely feeling it. Although, I’m feeling much better than I did with Eleanor. The last time around the morning sickness was terrible, I was throwing up everyday and feeling constantly nauseous. I lost 10 pounds and was hospitalized for dehydration three times. This time around I’m pretty much constantly nauseous, but I’ve only thrown up once and I’m not nearly as miserable. Thank goodness! I don’t know how I would have handled taking care of Eleanor from the bathroom floor.

I am completely exhausted all the time though. I have almost no energy. I’m taking 10am naps, and then lying on the couch while Eleanor watches tv all afternoon. It’s some pretty fantastic parenting. I don’t think she minds so much, except that she keeps asking if I’m going to be sick forever.

I’m planning on doing a weekly photo and pregnancy update for you all. So I’ll have that first update for you later today or tomorrow, depending on my energy level!

7th Anniversary at the Farmer’s Daughter – Part Three

If you missed them, check out Part One and Part Two of our anniversary at the Farmer’s Daughter.

After working up an appetite, you know, with the tv watching, we went downstairs to Tart, the hotel restaurant. Tart serves up American comfort food all fancied up. Everything was so freaking delicious.

We started with cocktails.

Josh got a Hendrick’s Strawberry Drank, which is gin, lemonade, lime juice, and strawberry soda. Super tasty, but a little too soda and juice heavy. So he followed it up with a regular old G&T.  I had a Dirty Strawberry, which was Vodka with fresh strawberries, basil, and balsamic simple syrup. I thought ahead and asked our server to go heavy on the Vodka. It was awesome! And pretty!

Since all the entrees were meat and we’re vegetarians. We ordered several sides.

The Heirloom Tomato Crostini. So, so tasty!

The Truffle Mac & Cheese. Simply amazing! I couldn’t get enough!

Sweet potato fries. Tasty, but not as good as the rest. Also the others stuffed us pretty full, so we barely had any fries.

We followed dinner up with a dessert of berries and cream and one of those fresh baked cookies topped with ice cream. Holy crap those were good. Sorry no photos. I was pretty well drunk and stuffed full by then to remember to take photos.

After dessert we walked back to the hotel, passing through Tart’s lovely patio area. I decided that’s where we would have breakfast in the morning.

We went back to our room to digest the massive amounts of food we ate and sober up a little. And then, you know, probably more tv.

And, sure enough in the morning we walked down to the patio for breakfast.

Guess what? The breakfast was awesome too!

Josh got the veggie hash and I had the French toast banana foster style.

Also, the coffee mugs were super cute. You better believe I bought one to bring home.

And that was our anniversary. Super fun! Amazing to have a child free afternoon, evening, night, and morning! Super big thanks to Uncle Elliott who stayed at our place with Eleanor. We even got good reports that she was well behaved and didn’t even mind that Mama and Daddy were gone. I think she wouldn’t have cared if we were gone a week. She loves her Uncles!

If you missed it, check out Part One of our anniversary at the Farmer’s Daughter.

We checked in Saturday afternoon and went straight to our room to…watch tv.

After watching tv, we were pretty hungry so we headed down to the hotel’s restaurant, Tart, for an early dinner. Tart photos up tomorrow!
