Fabulous Friday: A Charlie Brown Christmas

Posted by: Maggie

There is nothing more beautifully Christmasy than A Charlie Brown Christmas, but not even just the movie. The movie is fantastic and funny and clever and heartwarming, and all of that stuff you want a good Christmas movie to be, but that isn’t even why it’s so great.

It’s the soundtrack! Vince Guaraldi is some sort of crazy genius because just a few notes any of that incredible jazz piano in any of these songs and I am suddenly overcome with these amazingly complex feelings of joy and sadness and I don’t know what, but it feels like Christmas and I love it! Here’s a great NPR story you can listen to about Guaraldi and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

p.s. I know, I’ve been a terrible blogger this week, but isn’t the new header great? ok, we’ll talk about it next week, maybe…

Fabulous Friday: Last Year’s Gap Holiday Commercials

Posted by: Maggie

I just saw Gap’s new holiday commercial for this year. Horrible. And so much more of a dissappointment because last year’s ads were incredibly good.

In case you missed them then or, like me, are missing them now, here are a few for you to enjoy! Bring on the holiday cheer!

And the very, very best one:

I must have watched that one a million times last year! Love it! And I’m so in love with Selma Blair! I’ve been growing my hair out all year to wear that high pony tail. And Rainn Wilson! Super HOT! With his hair all messy and those gorgeous eyes! Love him!

I’m kick-starting the holiday season here at Making Me Cranky! For the rest of the month all Fab Fridays will be holiday related! And I’ll throw in some more holiday posts during the rest of the week too! And you can look forward to a House Tour holiday edition coming up, as soon as we get our tree (probably this Sunday)! I just love the holidays!

Thanksgiving Part Four: Second Thanksgiving!

Posted by: Maggie

My parents trade off hosting holidays. This year my dad had Thanksgiving, but my mom likes to do another simpler Thanksgiving on her off years. So we went over to Go Go’s on Saturday night for a second Thanksgiving dinner.

My sister Maria and her husband Christian were with his family on Thanksgiving so we were glad to see them for Second Thanksgiving!

And that was Thanksgiving!  Coming soon: Hanukkah!
