Spiders and Pumpkins

Posted by: Maggie

I love any kind of celebration, especially holidays. So I always start celebrating as early as possible. This year, we started our Autumn and Halloween celebrating on the very first day of October with a trip to the Spider Pavilion at the Natural History Museum.

I was less nervous going in than I was last year. As I mentioned in last year’s post, I have a real insect phobia, I get nervous, my heart starts to race, and my palms sweat when I look at a picture of an insect. I was okay last year, so I wasn’t worried about being able to handle being in a greenhouse with spiders loose everywhere this year. And I did just fine. I mean, I was a little nervous, but not really scared.

The next day we headed over to our local pumpkin patch, Lombardi Ranch, to pick out our pumpkins.

It was about 100 degrees out so we didn’t stay long. We just grabbed a quick pony ride, picked out our pumpkins and that was it. But don’t worry we got some more pumpkin patch fun in another time. I’ll post that trip next week!

Weekly Pregnancy Update: Week 14

First of all, this is last weeks update. So sorry for the delay. I’ve been getting very busy at work and my hard drive is full up, so I’ve been spending alot of time clearing out old photos before I can upload any new.

I also want to apologize for the lack of posts over the last couple weeks. On top of being busy, I’ve still been pretty tired so I’ve been dropping a lot of things lately. But I’m getting some energy back, so I’m going to try to get back on my regular posting schedule this week! I have a whole week of great posts planned for you. So, please stick with me!

The Week in Pregnant

I had another pretty good week. Still tired, and I had another migraine, but beside that mostly good. Nothing really new baby wise.

Cravings of the Week

  • Still craving candy and ice cream, and soda, pretty much anything sweet.

Tears of the Week

  • Stevie Wonder on the radio singing “I Just Called to Say I Love You”

Baby Brain Moments of the Week

  • I’ve just had general issues concentrating, and remembering words. I feel like I can’t carry on a normal conversation anymore.

The Week in Pregnant

This week was much better than last. I’ve got a little more energy than I’ve had, and no nausea at all. I’ve just been getting some sinus headaches since I can’t take my usual allergy medicine while pregnant, but I’m not miserable.

I’ve started to feel the baby moving. Just little flutters once in awhile. But it’s pretty exciting.

AND if you noticed in the photo above, I’m officially showing. Just a bit, enough for me not to be able to button my jeans. But not enough to look pregnant rather than chubby in person. They say that everything happens quicker in your second pregnancy, and that definitely is true for me. I wasn’t showing at all with Eleanor for at least a few more weeks.

Cravings of the Week

  • Candy!

Tears of the Week

  • A Johnson & Johnson commercial with a Dad playing with his little boys
  • Basically every episode of every show I watched all week long.

Baby Brain Moments of the Week

  • Right now, trying to remember my baby brain moments.
