Dinosaur Hall at the Natural History Museum, Los Angeles

Posted by: Maggie

While Brian was is town we wanted to entertain him a little. We figured he probably didn’t want to do what we normally do: sit on the couch and eat ice cream. So, we took him to one of our favorite places in L.A., the Natural History Museum. The museum has just opened their new Dinosaur Hall, and we had been waiting for Brian to visit to check it out. The Dinosaur exhibit at the museum had been closed for years with only this display in the entrance hall of the museum:

That’s Brian, being adorably scary. Now the exhibit is finally reopened in a gorgeous new display!

Okay, that’s not it, that’s just Josh and Eleanor enjoying the Discovery Center at the museum. Fun stuff if you like taxidermy.

Here are the Dinosaurs:

I wish I could tell you something more about the exhibit, but if you’ve ever been to a museum with a 3 year old you know that there’s no chance you can stand in one place to read about what you’re looking at for more than 30 seconds.

I now realize I should have grabbed a stranger to take a photo of all of us, but I had my nice camera and it’s always scary to hand your very expensive camera over to a stranger who 1) could walk off with it, and 2) can’t follow your instructions on how to take the photo anyway.

More adventures with Brian up soon!

Pinterest LA Meetup!

Posted by: Maggie

Last week I went to the Pinterest LA meetup (I know two events in one week! That makes up for the last three months of leaving the house only to take Eleanor to and from school). I posted about my love for Pinterest over on Maggie Keegan Gross Photography a few months ago. It’s a fantastic place to keep track of all the visual inspiration you find all over the web, share it with friends, and see what’s inspiring them. Because I love it so, I thought it would be fun to head out to Urbanic Paper (the cutest store ever) in Venice to meet up with some fellow pinners.

And it was! It was filled with LA creative types, who all looked effortlessly cute. They made me want to go on a serious shopping spree. I got to talk to some interesting Angelinos, and I even got to meet one of my blogging idols, Joy Cho of Oh Joy! She was very nice and very politely listened while I tried to convince her to add more baby style posts to her blog (she is pregnant after all). I don’t think I sold her on the idea.

Erin (that’s her taking a photo of me taking a photo of her, you can see her’s HERE), who I finally got to meet in person at the Arrojo launch party earlier in the week, was my date for the evening! I had so much fun getting to know her on our long drive to Venice! Thanks for being my date Erin! I had a blast!

If you haven’t joined Pinterest, I really recommend it, check it our HERE, and follow my boards HERE!

Ladybug Picnic

Posted by: Maggie

We had our first picnic dinner of the year last weekend! We love to just pack up a simple dinner and go eat on the grass at a nearby park when the weather is nice. It’s a lovely way to end the weekend and a chance for Eleanor to run around and get out the last of her weekend energy so that she might actually go to sleep without a fight and get some rest for a new school week.

And it’s especially nice when the ladybugs come out to join us!

p.s. I found this cute picnic basket, complete with cups, dishes, and silverware, at Goodwill for just $5! Major score!

Take your dinner to the park this weekend! I guarantee you’ll thank me! It’s fun and free!
