Easter Fun

Posted by: Maggie

Easter morning, Eleanor’s Easter basket was waiting for her in the living room.  The Easter bunny had apparently let herself/himself in sometime Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Her basket included a Curious George notepad for Eleanor to tear up/scribble on, a polka-dot Easter egg, and a pair of polka-dotted socks.

Eleanor was so excited to find things to put in her mouth! When will she grow out of this stage?! It’s making me a little crazy.

She was most excited about her new socks. She loves socks. In the middle of the day, she will walk up to me and ask me to put socks on her, “ska, ska.” That Easter Bunny was so thoughtful!

She had the most fun with the Easter grass, of course.

After Eleanor’s nap, we headed over to Grandpa Keegan and Grandma Leila’s house for the family Easter egg hunt. Eleanor immediately ran past the grown-ups and headed straight for her second cousins.

Or maybe she was just after the croquet balls.

The hunt began.

Eleanor found her egg pretty easily, with a little help from her Daddy.

After finding it she decided that it needed to be cleaned off so she took it over to this water fountain.

After the hunt and some fun visiting with the family, we headed over to Go Go’s house for Easter dinner.

It was spring time in Go Go’s backyard. The flowers were in bloom on the pergola.

Eleanor got a great Easter gift from Go Go, a cute bee headband.

Go Go demonstrated for her. Eleanor thought it was hilarious.

After some fun we had a delicious dinner of deviled eggs, nicoise salad, and paninis.

Panty Raid

Eleanor does this thing where she puts my underwear around her neck like it’s jewelry. The other day she added a necklace. She really knows how to style an outfit.

p.s. The panties are new from Victoria’s Secret, I love these, you can find them here. The necklace is from Target, but I bought it a few years ago so I don’t think you can still find it. Eleanor’s polka dot pajamas are by Old Navy, but they were a gift in December so I don’t think they are carrying them anymore, but you might check ebay.

Poop Stories: Part One

WARNING!

The following post may offend the delicate sensibilities of some of our readers. Those of you who don’t want to read about a toddler’s bowel movements may want to look for entertainment elsewhere. I highly recommend the website with the cleverly captioned pictures of cats.

Love, Maggie

Last Thursday night I was feeling lazy and decided to skip Eleanor’s bath and just have her shower with me in the morning. I had forgotten that we had plans to go visit my sister Maria, Aunt MoMo, Friday morning. It always takes much longer for me to get us both ready at the same time so I was trying to move as quickly as possible that morning. I rushed Eleanor through breakfast and got us both into the shower as soon as she finished eating. I was in such a hurry that I neglected to consider the fact that Eleanor poops shortly after eating her first meal of the day. I think you all can see where this story is going.

I had just stepped out of the shower, hung up my towel, and turned around to pick up Eleanor, when I saw something on the floor of the shower behind her. As I realized what it was, I groaned aloud making Eleanor back away from me stepping right into the poop. I immediately grabbed her up to run her to her changing table where I could use some baby wipes to clean her up. As I was heading to her room, I realized that I was still completely naked and that I had left the blinds in her room open. So I instead brought her to the towel I had laid out for her on my bed and wrapped her in it while I got some clothes on. I ended up with a shower to clean up and a poopy towel to wash. This was one of those days where I realize that we could never live in an apartment without a washer and dryer. I can only imagine a basket full of poop-covered clothes and no quarters in the house.

In retrospect I should have just taken the poop out of the shower and cleaned her up in there because, you know, it’s a shower, but obviously my brain wasn’t working properly at the time.

This reminds me of a much better poop story, but unfortunately we’re out of time for today. I’ll be sure to get to Part Two later this week.
