The Petless Petting Zoo

Posted by: Maggie

We spent Sunday afternoon with Grandpa Gross and Raisa. We had planned to go to Hart Park in Santa Clarita to see the petting zoo, but unfortunately the animal area was under construction and the animals were being kept elsewhere. So we just let Eleanor run around on the grass until she was exhausted. I don’t think she missed the animals, she is always happy just to be set free to run and eat leaves.

Daredevil Eleanor

Eleanor is a little daredevil baby. She loves to be thrown into the air, to ride on Daddy’s shoulders while he runs around the house, and to climb onto the highest pieces of furniture (her new favorite is the top of the toilet tank, we are keeping the bathrooms closed and locked from now on). Her new favorite game is “jump off the coffee table and see if Daddy is fast enough to catch me.”

This game freaks me out. I picture broken bones and emergency room visits. But neither Josh nor I actually believed that she would jump without one of us being there in front of her to catch her, until she did the other day. She was fine, but surprised. I don’t think she’ll be jumping without a catcher again any time soon.

How We Spent Our St. Paddy’s Day

As it turns out, there was no alcohol in the house, so Eleanor and I had to go out and at least have something green to drink. We got my favorite, a Green Tea Ice Blended from the Coffee Bean and Eleanor got to run around the fountain out front, try to drink the water, and try to climb in.

For dinner, I was thinking about making some corned beef and cabbage, but then I remembered that we are vegetarians and that it’s disgusting.
